Schoen Place

1 design

Schoen Place is a street along the Erie Canal in the village of Pittsford, Monroe County, New York. The village, incorporated in 1827 and the oldest in the county, grew as a canal shipping center for grain and produce, and the warehouses, mills and silos that survived along its waterfront now hold offices, shops and restaurants. On Schoen Place itself the Village Coal Tower Restaurant stands at number 9 and the ten-story Pittsford Grain Tower at number 11, with a history board marking Historic Schoen Place; across the water is Carpenter Park at the Port of Pittsford, with a free dock, canal tour boats and the Erie Canalway Trail.
