Allentown is a neighborhood in Buffalo, New York, the first neighborhood north of the downtown core, centered on Allen Street and Elmwood Avenue. It takes its name from Lewis F. Allen, who came to Buffalo in 1827; the path his cattle followed to pasture became Allen Street. The Allentown Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980 and expanded in 2012, and it includes Kleinhans Music Hall, Day's Park, Arlington Park and Symphony Circle. The Allentown Art Festival has been held in the neighborhood since 1958.
