Conesus Lake is a Finger Lake in Livingston County in western New York, the fifth smallest of the eleven Finger Lakes, reached from Interstate 390 about 15 miles south of Interstate 90. It is eight miles long and up to a mile wide, covers 3,420 acres and reaches a depth of 66 feet. The lake flows south to north from its inlet in the town of Conesus to its outlet at Lakeville in the town of Livonia, where Conesus Creek carries its water toward the Genesee River near Avon. Each July 3, residents light flares around the shoreline for the Ring of Fire, and in winter the frozen lake is used for ice fishing and snowmobiling.
