
Brighton is a town in Monroe County, New York, on the southeastern edge of the city of Rochester, with a population of 37,137 at the 2020 census. Established in 1814 and named for Brighton, England, it is one of the oldest towns in the county. Its civic center is the Twelve Corners, where Winton Road, Monroe Avenue and Elmwood Avenue meet, and the Erie Canal and its heritage trail pass through the town.
