Brookside
Brookside is an area of the town of Brighton in Monroe County, New York, on the southeastern border of the city of Rochester. The name is carried by the Brookside Community Center at 220 Idlewood Road, the former Brookside Elementary School, where the town's Recreation and Parks Departments have operated for more than thirty-five years. Brighton was established as a town in 1814 and had a population of 37,137 at the 2020 census. Its commercial center is Twelve Corners, where Winton Road, Monroe Avenue and Elmwood Avenue meet, and the Erie Canal and its heritage trail run through the town.
