Webster is a town in the northeastern corner of Monroe County, New York, in the Rochester metropolitan area, with a population of 45,327 at the 2020 census and a village of the same name within its borders. It is named for the orator and statesman Daniel Webster, whose 1837 speech in Rochester impressed the Whig farmers of North Penfield enough that they chose his name when petitioning for their own town, which was established on February 6, 1840. Irondequoit Bay, an inlet of Lake Ontario, makes up most of the town's water area, and Webster Park covers 550 acres along the Lake Ontario waterfront. The town's motto is "Where Life Is Worth Living".
