Canandaigua
Canandaigua is a city in Ontario County, New York, and the county seat, with a population of 10,576 at the 2020 census. It sits at the northern end of Canandaigua Lake, one of the Finger Lakes, about 24 miles southeast of Rochester, and is surrounded by the Town of Canandaigua. The settlement became a village in 1815 and a city in 1913, and it grew up on the site of the Seneca village of Tganödä:gwëh, where the Treaty of Canandaigua was signed in 1794. Kershaw Beach, Canandaigua Lake State Marine Park and Sonnenberg Gardens and Mansion State Historic Park are within the city limits.
