Bushnell's Basin is a hamlet in the southwestern portion of the town of Perinton, Monroe County, on the side of the town that borders Pittsford, where addresses carry the Pittsford 14534 ZIP code. It is home to the Bushnell's Basin Fire Department and to Richardson's Canal House, an Erie Canal inn and tavern dating to about 1818 that began as a stagecoach stop between Rochester and Canandaigua and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1980. The surrounding town remained essentially rural until the 1950s, and the Erie Canal passes through neighboring Pittsford.
