Victor is a town in the northwest corner of Ontario County, New York, southeast of Rochester, with a population of 15,969 at the 2020 census and a village of the same name at its center. Formed in 1812 from part of the Town of Bloomfield, it is named for Claudius Victor Boughton, a hero of the War of 1812, and it holds the site of Ganondagan, a major Seneca village preserved as a state historic site since 1987. The New York State Thruway crosses the northern part of the town near the hamlet of Fishers, and Eastview Mall stands off Thruway Exit 45 on Route 96. The town's western and northern lines border Monroe County, and the village lies 12 miles from the head of Canandaigua Lake.
