Lancaster
Lancaster is a town in Erie County, centered 14 miles east of downtown Buffalo, with a population of 45,106 at the 2020 census. Formed from the town of Clarence in 1833 and named after Lancaster, Massachusetts, it contains the village of Lancaster, the eastern half of the village of Depew and the hamlets of Bowmansville and Town Line. The Warren Hull House, built in 1810, is Erie County's oldest surviving stone structure. Cayuga Creek runs west through the town and village and through Como Lake Park, and the village hosts a Fourth of July Parade and the Taste of Lancaster each year.
